AIRING OF THE QUILTS
Saturday, April 20, 12 - 5 pm
On the Grounds at Duck Creek
Join artists and organizers Louise Eastman and Erica-Lynn Huberty at Duck Creek for our annual Airing of the Quilts, a joyous celebration of quilt-making and the arrival of Spring! The Airing of the Quilts is a cherished tradition, symbolizing the transition from winter to spring. Quilt-making has been a beloved practice for generations, fostering creativity, storytelling, and community connection!
ALL ARE WELCOME TO PARTICIPATE!
AIR YOUR QUILT:
Arrive at Duck Creek between 9 - 11 am to hang your quilt, and collect it by 5 pm. If you're sharing a treasured quilt, please remain nearby while it's on display at Duck Creek. All quilts must be tagged with the exhibitor's name, phone number, and email.
AIR YOUR GREIVANCES: AN EARTH DAY PROJECT:
Help us create a Community Quilt! Take an 8-1/2 inch square piece of fabric and collage, draw, paint, quilt, embroider, or express your thoughts on how to protect the Earth! Your square will be showcased on April 20, and sewn into our community quilt for display on Earth Day 2025!
Come together to make our voices heard
and celebrate the beauty of our planet at Duck Creek's Airing of the Quilts!
Our 2024 AIRING OF THE QUILTS Program is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrant Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by The Huntington Arts Council, Inc.
